Why this scooter?: I wanted a vintage scoot,
but since I can't fix anything that moves, I thought it
would be better to have the reliability, of a new scoot.
So when I found out they were coming out with the
PX re-issue I was all over it. Love it!!

Scooter details: I have an awesome modded

Why this scooter?: I chose the LX because I
liked it, and also because it was automatic (I didn't
know how to drive standard). I had to learn how
anyway on the motorcycle course. I thought driving
standard would be hard.... turns out, not so much!
I still like the LX though.

Year/ model: 63 Vespa VNB 125
Scooter details: Bought from an older couple
in Bridgewater years ago in very questionable
shape. Totally rebuilt, new paint, reupholstered
leather seat, rebuilt original engine, 12V electronic
ignition with real working lights.I'm quite sure you
could outwalk this scoot while climbing Blomidon
mountain two up.

Why this scooter ? Always wanted to do up a Vespa
and this was the first scoot I found. But I love its
curves. It's a "cutie" as my wife says.

Other scooters: I have a Honda Helix super scoot.
As well my father finally gave me his '66 200SX.
When I was 19, he tried to sell the SX on the
front lawn for $ 300.00. There were no takers (thank God).
He offered to give it to me, but at that time I thought
that scoots were the most uncool thing that a
pimply faced teen could have. Now I think they
are the Cats Ass and ride it when I can (what
the frig is happening to me ?) And of course we
have "scooter" the gray parrot (aka "the chicken")

Scooter details: mostly stock till recently putting
on a big bore AF clubman exhaust, replacing the tired
original. bought the scooter new in portsmouth,
england. first scoot trip took me to France, Italy,
Yugoslavia, Germany,
Austria. when it was time to
come back to canada Ii flew the scoot to boston and
rode it up to Nova Scotia.

Why this scooter? when shopping for a
scoot it was a toss up beween a series two li 150 and
the jet 200, with the long trip ahead i wanted
a 200c.c. and also something new as i knew nothing
of machanics and didn't want to be learning on the
side of the road.

Frame mods: Rally-style ignition
switch, modified headset to accept PX master cylinder,
PX front fork and disc brake, crappy
Harley front
fender. Engine mods:  P200E engine with Malossi 210
kit, cases relieved for reed-induction, intake and
transfers matched, 30mm PHBH carb and reed
manifold, ScootRS expansion chamber, Cosa 2

tooth banded clutch with up-rated springs.  Best guess
is 130km/hr top-speed.

Why this scooter?:  I absolutely love the lines
of the GL with it’s slightly squared-off side
panels and trapezoid headlight.  Bought this about 6
years ago, sold it to a friend, then fought for the next
5 year
s to get it back from Calgary until the fall
2006 when it finally came home.  This project was
a mix of two ideas: the ‘Ten Dollar Paint Job’ and the
‘Let’s Screw With It And Make It Go Really Fast’
idea.  I broke the budget and spent almost $34 on the
paint job so I could put the money into the engine.

I love riding this machine and it’s very reliable.

Other scooters: Many are in boxes, a few are not.
